Interlake Mountain Men

Who Are We?
We are a group of people that enjoy reminiscing of when this great country was being explored west after Lewis and Clark made their great journey. The Interlake Mountain Men celebrate this pre 1840's era - the stories, the facts, the lies, and the shooting of Muzzleloaders rifles and pistols. We welcome anyone interested in learning or just shooting a Muzzleloader for the first time.

Our Monthly Meeting/Shoot
Our main activity is the monthly shoot, on the third Saturday of each month at the Interlake Sporting Association's rifle range. Members (and anyone interested, shooter or not) gather in the clubhouse around 9:00 AM for a business meeting and at around 10:00 AM we head to the range for muzzleloading rifle and pistol competition. Prizes are sometimes handed out after the shoot. A pre-shoot breakfast or after-shoot lunch is provided by club members. (There are fees for shooting and the meal.) After the prizes and lunch we gather for a how-to session and tale-swapping. Members shoot with a wide variety of weapons, both store-bought and custom designs. On occasion, someone brings along an original for the rest of us to admire. Hawk and knife events are scheduled from time to time.

Our Annual Rendezvous
Interlake Mountain Men holds its annual rendezvous (aka "rondy") in Sedro-Woolly in June. You'll find a fur trader's encampment with teepees, buckskinners, and traders of all kinds. It's a full weekend, with rifle shoots, a pistol and trail walk, knife and hawk walk, competitions just for the young ones, a community stew pot on Saturday evening - there's something for every family member. Folks from all over Washington come for a great 1830's rendezvous experience! Please contact us for location and driving directions.

Interested?
Attend any of our activities - you're always welcome! We enjoy showing off our mountain man skills, like starting a fire with flint & steel, or teaching you how to throw a hawk or knife, or explaining how muzzleloading weapons work and how to safely load and handle them. We can be reached by email at or just show up at an event and join the fun.
