Seattle University Marksmanship Club

The SU club has long honored Interlake Sporting Association with making it's home with us. This address and location on our site will host the NEW SUMC WEBSITE, or at least a link to it, shortly!!!

Following is the monthly letter from the SUMC Director, Mr. Russ Sattarov;

Hello all,

The following are the Marksmanship Club events scheduled the month of January:

- Thursday, January 10th from 12 to 1 PM in Casey 516. Marksmanship Club 2008 kick-off meeting. I encourage everyone to attend so we can accommodate as many special requests and answer as many questions as possible (e.g., we can decide on earlier range time, see below)

- Friday, January 11th. First Shooting day of the year! Rifle and Pistol shooting in Renton. Transportation van has been reserved from 12 to 7 PM. We will leave Bellarmine turn-around at 1:55 sharp. Dr. Andrew Tadie will be conducting a firearms safety class required for all the new club members. We will also have a brief overview for veteran members since it has been over 9 months since the club’s last shooting event

- Friday, January 25th. Rifle and Pistol shooting day at Interlake range in Redmond

- Saturday, January 26th at 9 AM. Range safety class at the Interlake Shooting range. The class is a little over 2 hours. So far we have 12 members attending the class. The transportation from SU to Redmond is arranged. There is plenty of room for more people to attend; feel free to email me if you want to participate

Special Note: The range administration agreed to conduct the class for SU Marksmanship Club on Saturday, January 26th even though the range has a work-party scheduled that day. I want to offer those who are able to stay after the class and help (clubhouse cleaning, yard work, moving things around, etc) a specially scheduled shooting day at a later time as a reward. I can arrange a special guest, for example a world-class competition pistol shooter, to teach us handgun speed and accuracy techniques.

On Saturday, January 26th we can have the class, a little work, and snacks afterwards. Sort of Mind, Body, and Soul event.

Let’s discuss all this on Thursday. It is your club and we can only make it happen if you participate. See you then.

Russ
